I joined the GenNow Network (formerly ABOA) in November 2020, initially becoming part of the Event Committee to help plan our first event after COVID. Over the following years, I continued my involvement and had the privilege of serving as the Jockeys & Juleps Event Director in 2023-2024. This year, I am honored to take on the role of President, where I look forward to advancing our mission even further.

My passion for GNN stems from a personal connection, as cancer has deeply affected my family just like so many others. As a Previvor myself, I consider myself fortunate to have discovered my risk early, and I’m driven to contribute to the fight against cancer and make a meaningful impact.

Outside of GNN, I’ve been part of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s advertising team for three years. Community involvement is what fuels me, and I’m committed to staying active in various professional and charitable organizations. When I’m not working or volunteering, I enjoy golfing, playing tennis, traveling, reading, and binge watching shows.

I have been involved with the American Cancer Society as a volunteer for over 12 years and a part of GNN since 2019! I am passionate about the work ACS is doing and feel strongly that we all play a part in ending cancer as we know it. GNN provides a unique opportunity to make an impact in cancer patient’s lives locally in Tampa, as well as connections to other like minded professionals and mentors.

I attended the University of South Florida and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and have been in Tampa ever since. My professional experience has been in healthcare administration and outside of volunteering with the American Cancer Society, my husband, daughter, and I like to travel, spend time outdoors and discover new restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.

Mission

ACS GenNow Network chapters implement mission-centric opportunities for members and supporters to further ACS initiatives.

The American Cancer Society is the leading cancer-fighting organization with a vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Together are improving the lives of people with cancer and their families as the only organization combating cancer through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

ACS GenNow Network educates members on the mission and vision of the American Cancer Society and integrates these into chapter activities. Chapters are encouraged to provide opportunities to support ACS patient support programs and services and fundraising activities.

Mentorship

ACS GenNow Network members are offered opportunities for professional development and networking with other members and chapters.

We value the opportunity to leverage the strength of our GenNow Network along with our strength as the American Cancer Society in order to help provide members opportunities for professional development through mentorship from other members and/or ACS contacts.

By creating opportunities for members to expand their personal and professional networks within the community, we allow for involvement within the chapter to benefit our members in a variety of ways.

Impact

ACS GenNow Network chapters host unique, memorable events to engage communities in raising funds to help end cancer as we know it, for everyone.

The impact component of our GenNow Network chapters is essential to helping support the life-saving mission of the American Cancer Society. From rooftop cocktail parties to poolside social events, our young professionals host trendy and impactful events to raise funds for the American Cancer Society’s vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
